Product Description
OxiPlus12™ is an NSF/ANSI/CAN-61 certified catalytic media used to remove soluble iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide, arsenic, and radium from groundwater. The media consists of a silica sand core coated with manganese dioxide (MnO2). The combination allows the media to catalyze the oxidation-reduction reaction of iron and manganese while tolerating water that is low in silica, TDS, and hardness without breaking down. OxiPlus12 is an ideal choice for retrofitting existing sand/anthracite and greensand filtration systems. OxiPlus12 is manufactured with a minimum 12% MnO2 coating vs 4.5-5% for competitive products. This results in longer run times between backwashing events, thus reducing system downtime and water to drain. Additionally, OxiPlus12 is produced in a mesh size of 18x45 rather than 18x60, significantly reducing the quantity of media sent to drain during the initial start-up of the system.
